In the next few days,insyaAllah all of us muslims and muslimahs will be fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadhan. May I wish you all the blessings of Ramadhan al-Mubarak!
Let me share with you what I have noted from our Ustaz's kuliyyah last week.First, he advised us to eat less during the coming month of Ramadhan.Just look back for the last few Ramadhans and reflect on our eating habits.We had more dishes and we eat more during breaking of fast than normal time.Ramadhan is more like "Pesta Nafsu Makan" than "Pesta Ibadah". How do we go about making the change?
His suggestion: Donot break our fasting at home but join the jemaah at our surau or masjid.
On how to pray more rakaat for the solat terawih? Choose to pray at surau atau masjid that do 20 rakaat instead of 8 rakaat.
On reading the Qur'an, we must have a time table,preferably after solat fardu.
To make the change to work,he suggested we get a 'new' friend as our companion in ibadah especially for the month of Ramadhan.
Let's try harder this coming Ramadhan and make it better than the last one.
